UP govt directs officials to make arrangements for PM visit

Uttar Pradesh government today directed the administration and police officials concerned to make all the necessary arrangements in view of proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Etawah later this week.

State Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan instructed Commissioner and IG (Kanpur) and administration officials in Etawah through a video conference to complete all preparations in view of the proposed visit of the prime minister, his cabinet colleagues and other VVIPs on February 21, an official spokesman said.

"Several dignitaries including the prime minister, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and others have been invited to attend 'tilak' ceremony of Tej Pratap Yadav, grandnephew of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in Saifai, Etawah and all security arrangements be made timely," Alok Ranjan told the officials.
 

The chief secretary asked them to make special arrangements to deal with any emergency situation and ensure smooth flow of traffic besides keeping an eye on suspicious activities by installing CCTV cameras.
