UP Govt employee accuses state minister of 'harassment'

An employee of Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Corporation along with his wife today went indefinite fast seeking action against a state minister for allegedly harassing them at the behest of 'land mafia' over a piece of land.

Deep Chandra Maurya, who is employed as a driver, claimed that land mafia which is allegedly close to the minister wanted to "grab" his land even as the matter is sub judice.

Maurya alleged that at the insistence of the land mafia, the minister exerted pressure on his officers to get him transferred to Banda on "false charges". He also threatened to take the extreme step if the "harassment" did not stop.
 

The minister could not be contacted for comment.
