Addressing a pulse polio programme, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ahmad Hasan said the state government was seriously working to eliminate polio and those living in slums and nomadic people would be trained to achieve the goal.

He said in India no polio case was detected since January 2011 till date due to which WHO had removed it from the list of polio affected countries.

"We will not be taking polio programme lightly and directives have been issued to identify gaps in it, if any, and ensure that the anti-polio campaign continues successfully," he said.
