Uttar Pradesh Cabinet today decided to rename Manyavar Sri Kanshiramji agriculture and technical university Banda as Banda agriculture and technical university, reversing the order of previous BSP government.
"The Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav here decided to rename the varsity as Banda agriculture and technical university, Banda," an official spokesman here said.
The Cabinet has approved amendment in the Act for the purpose of changing the name of the university, the spokesman said.
In another decision, the Cabinet decided to make the cost and other specifications of houses built under the "machua avas kalyan yojna" at par with those being constructed under the 'Lohia gramin avas yojna", the spokesman said.
"Now the cost of the houses under the "machua avas kalyan yojna" has been increased to Rs 1.85 lakhs from Rs 75 thousand of which the beneficiary would have to bear Rs 25 thousand," he added.
