Uttar Pradesh government today sought more time from the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court to file a reply after getting more details of merger of BSP supremo Mayawati's bungalows here.
A division bench of Justices Satyendra Singh Chauhan and Aditya Nath Mittal granted the time and fixed the matter for next hearing on December 9.
The court had earlier directed the Estate Officer to appear before it today in connection with the bungalow allotment to Mayawati and to inform the court as to how many bungalows allotted to her have been merged in Lucknow city.
It also directed that the Estate Officer, who was present in the court, need not appear again unless called.
The state counsel sought more time to file a reply bringing more details about the merger of the bungalows.
The bench is dealing with a PIL filed by M L Yadav in 2013, seeking a direction to produce all the records of bungalow number 9 in Mall Avenue here and make clear under which procedure/channel it was ultimately allegedly transferred in Mayawati's name.
He had also sought a direction to make a detailed inquiry by an independent agency like CBI in this matter.
The petitioner further sought direction to remove/demolish all the alleged illegal encroachment/construction raised in bungalow number 4, 12, 14 and 16 situated on Gurudwara Raqabganj Road in New Delhi.
The petitioner alleged that in the four bungalows in New Delhi, illegal construction was made by Mayawait.
He said bungalow number 9 at Mall Avenue here was transferred in her own name in an illegal and arbitrary manner.
