With a view to implement women empowerment schemes being run by different departments in an integrated manner, Uttar Pradesh government has set up state women empowerment mission.
This 15-member mission would be headed by the chief minister and have the minister for women welfare as its vice chairman, an official spokesman said.
Ministers holding home, medical education, medical health and family welfare, housing and urban planning, agriculture, rural development, small industry, social welfare, primary education and other portfolios would be its members, the spokesman said.
The mission would coordinate, review and monitor the schemes being run by various departments for women empowerment, the spokesman added.
