UP govt should challenge verdict in Hashimpura case

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy today said the Uttar Pradesh government, which has been consistently lukewarm about prosecuting the 1987 Hashimpura massacre case, should appeal against the trial court order acquitting 16 PAC personnel.

The UP government should do this to demonstrate its sincerity by filing the appeal in the Delhi High Court in the case over the killing of 42 Muslims, he said in a statement.
