Slamming the Samajwadi Party government for accusing the Centre of not helping the Uttar Pradesh out of its power woes, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal today said the state had failed to address the issue despite receiving adequate assistance.

"UP government claims the Centre is not extending power to the state. But the state government has failed to generate power despite resources being made available to it," he told reporters here.

The minister said if the state government can identify five acres of land, a solar park can be set up on it.

Earlier, the minister launched schemes together worth Rs 292 crore under the Deendayal Upadhyay Integrated Power Development Scheme.
