Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said today his government will compensate farmers who have suffered losses due to natural calamities.

"In case of losses incurred due to natural calamities, the state government will give compensation to farmers," he said at a programme here.

Adityanath urged farmers to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar and ordered the district administration to organise camps at block and tehsil levels to get it done.

He said the country cannot progress until farmers were prosperous.

"This is a government of the people. It does not differentiate on the basis of religion, caste and creed, and takes decision on the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas'," he added.

He handed over loan redemption certificates to 30 farmers here.
