On the lines of criteria adopted by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to assess the academic institutions, Uttar Pradesh government will constitute a new body UPSAAC to evaluate all universities and degree colleges in the state, a senior official said today.
During a meeting of the vice chancellors of the state universities, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Neeraj Kumar Gupta said that now evaluation of varsities and colleges would be done by Uttar Pradesh State Assessment and Accreditation Council.
He said that process for setting up of the SAAC was under process at the government level.

Asking the VCs for monitoring the attendance of teachers and students in the class, he said the system of e-monitoring should be implemented.
VC of Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University Prof Kuldeep Singh suggested that as new law colleges were coming up in the state they should be affiliated to the university.
He said through this quality of education could be maintained by monitoring legal education.
