In a bid to streamline traffic system, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to implement integrated traffic management scheme in 12 districts, a senior police official said today.
Under the scheme, to be implemented in 12 districts, traffic signals would be installed at crossings that would be connected to control room besides installing reflectors and traffic indicators at key places, IG, Law and Order, A Satish Ganesh said.
He said that Rs 2,079 crore would be spent on implementation of the scheme.
The cities for which the system would be implemented included Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Allahabad and Lucknow besides Azamgarh, Bareilly, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, Gorakhpur and Meerut, he said.
