UP govt to issue Id-cards of drivers ferrying school kids

The district administration here has issued a notification for compulsory identification cards of drivers ferrying school kids under its initiative 'Mission Bharosa', ensuring safety of the students.

District Magistrate Roshan Jacob said the administration is issuing Id-cards to the drivers of school-owned and private vehicles ferrying school students for their safety under 'Mission Bharosa', the details of which will be available on its website.

The information related to the drivers will be uploaded on the The website - missionbharosa.Org, an official release said.

Under the initiative, the drivers will also be informed about model driving so that they can drive according to the traffic rules, it said.
 

The initiative is an attempt to safely ferry school-going children in the city, the DM said, adding that the initiative believes in training drivers to avoid any untoward incident.

She appealed to the parents that while booking a private vehicle, they should ensure the driver undergoes the model driving training conducted by the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
