UP govt to launch Hausla Poshan scheme

Uttar Pradesh government has decided to launch an integrated scheme for providing nutritious food to pregnant woman and malnourished children, from June 20, an official spokesperson said today.

"Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has decided to launch the Hausla Poshan Yojna from June 20," he said.

For effective implementation of the scheme, the Chief Minister has decided to adopt one village in Shravasti district under state nutrition mission.

Under the scheme, pregnant women and malnurished children would be provided cooked food and one fruit each.

Consultation would also be provided to pregnant women and kin of malnourished children in the age group of seven months to three years along with facility of regular weight check.
 

So far, 7,843 gram sabhas have been adopted under the mission.

While reviewing State Nutrition Mission, it was decided to include nutrition as a subject in curriculum of basic education department from the academic session 2016-17.

The Chief Minister hoped that the Chief Secretary would also adopt a village in Bahraich district of the state.

MP from Kannauj, Dimple Yadav, also attended the meeting.
