UP govt working to plug shortages in sports facilities: CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said that the state government was working towards plugging shortages in basic sports facilities and modernise them.

The chief minister also said that if any sports person of UP bags any medal at the international level, the state government will award the person.

"The state government is working to remove the shortage of basic facilities and provide modern ones," he said after inaugurating the regional sports meet of Vidya Bharti at the 35th PAC Battalion ground here.

"In the sporting competitions, one wins and someone loses. But, the important fact is that with what feeling do we actually enter the sporting arena. Sports also helps in strengthening brotherhood and harmony," Adityanath said.
 

Sports also plays an important role in shaping one's personality, he said.

Vidya Bharti, is an NGO and is the educational wing of the RSS.
