Uttar Pradesh government has yet to decide on whether to challenge the Allahabad High Court verdict asking government servants and others to send their children to primary schools run by the state Board for Secondary Education.
"Though the state's justice department has recommended that government needs to challenge the high court decision by filing SLP in the apex court a decision in this regard has yet to be taken," Minister for Primary Education Ram Govind Chaudhary said.
"I am personally against this recommendation of filing SLP in the Supreme Court on the issue and will also talk to chief minister Akhilesh Yadav," the minister said.

"I have sent letters to different unions representing administrative and police officials, employees, journalists, political and social functionaries", Chaudhary pointed out.
In August this year, the Allahabd high court had asked the chief secrtary to ensure that government servants, elected representatives and members of judiciary "and all other persons who get any benefit or salary from state exchequer or public fund" send their children to primary schools run by state Board for Secondary Education.
Justice Sudhir Agarwal, while passing the judgement, also ruled that "penal provisions" be laid down for those who violated the order.
