UP IAS officer dies of cardiac arrest

The Principal Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Rural Engineering Services, Ashok Kumar, today died of cardiac arrest at a hospital here.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav condoled the death and said that Kumar was an able officer and performed his duties sincerely. Due to his death the state would miss an able officer, he said.

The UP IAS association has also condoled the death of officer.

Kumar (57), a 1982-batch IAS officer, is survived by a son and a daughter, official sources said.
