Uttar Pradesh legislative council was today adjourned for the day after opposition members raised slogans against the state government and demanded its dismissal in the wake of a sting operation on Muzaffarnagar riots.
As soon as the proceedings in the upper House started, opposition members stood up and raising slogans, trooped in to the Well, except Congress members.
BSP members demanded as the name of a minister figured in the sting operation, the matter should be discussed in the House.

Though the proceedings resumed, agitated opposition members again rushed to the Well leading to another adjournment till 12 noon, followed by another 20 minutes.
In between the adjournments BJP members remained in the Well.
Later on, Leader of the House Ahmad Hassan presented the supplementary demand for current fiscal amid the ruckus.
When repeated attempts of the Chairman to bring the House in order turned futile, he adjourned the House for the day.
