The winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council started on a stormy note with the opposition creating an uproar over different issues, including cane price, forcing its adjournment for an hour.

As soon as the House met, the opposition members, including RLD, Congress, BSP and BJP, stormed into the well on different issues and raised anti-government slogans.

They demanded that the state advisory price of sugarcane be hiked.

When after repeated requests Chairman Ganesh Shanker Pandey failed to maintain order, the House was adjourned for an hour.
