Mohammad Iqbal, MLA from Chandpur constituency in Bijnor, and his supporters were booked on a complaint by a man named Azmat, a resident of Heenapur Deepa area of the district, IG (Law and Order) B P Singh said.
In his complaint, Azmat alleged that Iqbal and his supporters forcibly entered his house last night, assaulted him and opened fire in which one other person was injured.
The cause behind the assault is suspected to be some personal dispute, he said.
