Uttar Pradesh legislature today condoled the demise of Union Environment Minister Anil Dave, who passed away in New Delhi following cardiac arrest.

Members in the state Assembly as well as the Legislative Council stood in silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

As soon as the Assembly met for the day, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna informed the House about Dave's sudden demise.

After brief condolences messages by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Leader of the Opposition Ram Govind Chowdhury, among others, a two-minute silence was observed in the House.

In the Upper House, Dave's demise was announced by Chairman Ramesh Yadav after the Question Hour.

After obituary references, the House observed silence before it took up other items listed in the day's agenda.

60-year-old Dave, who was a two-time Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh, complained of uneasiness at his home in the national capital this morning and was rushed to AIIMS where he passed away.
