On the second day of campaigning of the Uttar Pradesh local bodies poll, workers of the Congress and BSP clashed in Birajpur villager here, in which two villagers suffered bullet injuries, the police said.
Deputy Superintendent Police Vinay Singh Chauhan said that though the situation in the village is peaceful, police personnel have been deployed to thwart any untoward incident.
"Two villagers received bullet injuries in the clash between congress and BSP members at the village," he said.

Police said that trouble started when the Congress candidate was campaigning and a BSP supporter allegedly passed a remark.
It lead to an altercation which turned violent, they said.
A case has been lodged against eight people at the Highway police station based on complaint, the officer said.
