UP Min launches plantation drive in Noida

Uttar Pradesh Excise minister Jai Pratap Singh today launched a plantation drive and also reviewed the progress of various development works undergoing in the district, especially the electrification of 40 villages.

He directed the officials to complete the work of electrification of 40 villages by August end, replace the damaged electric wires and ensure uninterrupted power supply as promised by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Singh, who is also in-charge of Gautam Buddha Nagar district, launched the drive on 10.5 hectare land of gram samaj in Salapur under Dadri tehsil by planting a sapling.

It will be known as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Upvan.
 

Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar, District Magistrate B N Singh, SSP Love Kumar and other officials were present also present on the occasion.

Making an appeal to students and residents to plant trees, he said trees provide fresh air and there is no life without plants.

"Gautam Buddha Nagar is environment sensitive area as it is an integrated industrial township. There is a need to plant more trees to make air pollution free," Singh added.

District Magistrate B N Singh said 21,000 trees of various types were planted in the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Upvan.

During the review meeting, the Minister also directed the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that immunisation schemes and other schemes were running as per schedule and their benefit reaches to the people.

Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh raised the issue of deaths by electrocution due to dangling high voltage wires and cleaning of drains and ponds.

The minister directed the officers to ensure redressal of public grievances raised by Jewar MLA.
