Uttar Pradesh mining minister and SP MLA Gayatri Prasad Prajapati today refuted claims of having links with suspended Noida chief engineer Yadav Singh.

"It is unfortunate to link my name with Yadav Singh. It is only to defame the state government and me with fake allegations and misleading facts," he said during a press conference at his residence here.

Asking state BJP president Lakshmikant Bajpai to "get his facts right", the minister said, "First of all, Bajpai should try to learn the facts before blaming somebody."

"My work is clear and all the allegations against me are to defame the government that is trying its best to serve the people of state in all respects," he said.

The minister was recently accused by the BJP leader of having links with Yadav Singh, Engineer-in-Chief of Noida Authority who was suspended by the SP government for amassing unaccounted for wealth.

Prajapati has also been in the dock, after a complaint was filed against him with the state Lokayukta for allegedly misusing his office and holding assets worth several crores.
