UP minister invites people of Arunachal to visit Kumb Mela

The Uttar Pradesh government has invited the people of Arunachal Pradesh to attend the Kumbh Mela, scheduled to be held at Prayagraj from January 15 to March 4 next year, officials said.

UP's Minister of State (Independent) for Rural Development Mahendra Singh on Thursday extended the invitation on behalf of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

"Over 5,000 NRIs will visit the Kumbh owing to the joint efforts made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and people from six lakh villages across India along with the overseas devotees from 92 countries will participate," he said at a press conference here.

 

The minister said the state government has set up 5,000 camps, to accommodate the devotees.

"The objective of the event is to make efforts to familiarise the world with the high quality life, conduct and thoughts of Indian culture through Kumbhs," the minister said.

Earlier in the day, the minister called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra at Raj Bhawan here and Chief Minister Pema Khandu to invite them for the event.
