Two official vehicles of Uttar Pradesh Jail minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia were challaned on the Ferozepur road here, police said today.
Ludhiana ADCP Traffic Dhruv Dahia said the drivers of both the vehicles of the minister had allegedly not put on seat belts when they were challaned.
However, Ramoowalia, who was here on an official visit, was not inside the car, police said.
Mandip Singh Madi Kalan, OSD of the UP Jail Minister, said the cars were coming out of a petrol pump situated on the Ferozepur road here after refuelling.
He alleged the ADCP (Traffic) was playing to the gallery by challaning the vehicles of a Cabinet minister of another state who had been provided escorts by the local police.
