An FIR has been lodged against Samajwadi Party MLA Rampal Yadav, who was recently expelled from the party, on charges of obstructing officials in discharge of duty and creating ruckus here.

An FIR was lodged against Sitapur MLA Yadav, his son and some others following a complaint by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) last night, station in-charge of Gautam Palli police station S K Katiyar said today.

The MLA and others had reportedly caused obstruction to the officials who tried to pull down a building, being constructed allegedly in violation of norms, in Jaimau area of the state capital earlier this week.

Samajwadi Party had expelled Rampal Yadav and his son Jitendra Yadav from the party after the latter went ahead and fought the recent zila panchayat election against official party nominee.

The party had also come down heavily on a few others who it suspected of helping Yadav in the election.
