UP police arrest two with 38 kg drugs

Two persons were arrested with 38 kilograms of drugs by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police.

Mohd Iqhlaq and Kaseemuddin were arrested from Rampur Karkhana area in Deoria district yesterday and 38 kilograms charas was recovered from the car they were travelling in, they said.

During interrogation, the accused told STF sleuths that they were smuggling the drugs from Baraich to Muzaffarnagar on the insistence of Rajkumar Bajpai, who is currently lodged in Gorakhpur jail.

The accused said they were to get Rs 20,000 each on the completion of work, they said.

Police said that recovered contraband was smuggled from somewhere near Nepal's capital Kathmandu.
