UP police to hold video conference to check post-Panchayat

A video conference of police personnel would be held on December 28 to chalk out a strategy for checking violence post Uttar Pradesh Panchayat polls, a senior police officer said.

Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) A Satish Ganesh today said that the video conferencing with IGs, DIGs and district chiefs would be held to discuss strategy to check post-Panchayat poll violence and election of Zila panchayat presidents and block heads.

He said that the officer concerned in all districts have been directed to furnish record of every male Zila panchayat member, especially those having criminal background and those who had done any jail time.
 

Ganesh said that block-wise detail of violence has also been sought so that gray areas could be identified. He added that all this information would be discussed in the meeting on December 28.
