UP reduces VAT on jet fuel at Agra, Varanasi to 4pc

With an aim to promote tourism in Agra and Varanasi, the Uttar Pradesh government has reduced VAT of jet fuel to 4 per cent, from 21 per cent earlier, at these two airports.

"For flights coming in Varanasi and Agra airports, VAT on ATF has been decreased to four per cent from existing 21 per cent. This facility will be available for both regular and chartered flights taking feul at these airports," Director General, Tourism, Amrit Abhijaat said.

He said that after this decision, more flights are expected in these two tourist places and will have good effect on tourism.
 

Agra airport is witnessing very less traffic while Varanasi is witnessing seven to eight flights per day, he added.
