UP reels under cold wave; Muzaffarnagar coldest at 0.3 deg C

Parts of Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under cold wave, with fog disrupting normal life at isolated places in various parts of the state.

Weather was mainly dry over the state, the MeT department said.

Night temperature plummeted in Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Varanasi, Faizabad, Allahabad, Kanpur and Bareilly divisions, the MeT department said.

Temperature was markedly below normal in Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Meerut divisions, and was slightly below normal in Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad, Agra divisions, the MeT office said.

Jhansi and the remaining divisions witnessed above normal temperature, it said.

Muzaffarnagar was the coldest recorded place with 0.3 degree Celsius.
 

The MeT department has predicted rain/thundershowers at isolated places in west UP and mainly dry weather over eastern parts of the state.
