A man, who secured a revenue official's post using forged documents and had been working in the department for the last three years, was finally caught and sacked, a senior official said on Tuesday.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Ballia Sadar tehsil, Ashwini Kumar Srivastava said, "Ajay Kumar was working as a lekhpal (revenue official) in Ballia Sadar tehsil and has been sacked following an investigation which revealed that he got the job using forged documents," Srivastava said.
"Kumar had managed to get a fake Scheduled Caste certificate nearly three years ago with which he joined service," he added.
The SDM said Kumar had been booked and action was initiated to recover the salary paid to him while he was employed with the revenue department.
The matter came to light almost six months ago and action was taken against the official on Monday evening, Srivastava said.
