UP sets maximum agri land acquisition limit at 5% for projects

The Uttar Pradesh government today fixed the maximum land acquisition limit of agricultural land for various projects in any district at five per cent of the total crop sowing area there.

A decision in this regard was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The Cabinet has amended its earlier decision of December 2014 fixing the limit at 20 per cent of the sowing area, an official release here said.
