UP Shia Waqf Board chairman claims receiving death threat from Pakistan

Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi

claimed today that he has received death threat from Pakistan-based extremist group Jamaat-e-Islami.

In a statement issued here today, Rizvi said: "The threat message from Jamaat-e-Islami came through email. It is a Pakistani extremist group, which indulges in terror activities. This organisation has links with terrorists like Syed Salahuddin."

Rizvi said that he has informed the senior superintendent of police about this.

According to a spokesperson of the Lucknow Police, they are in process of registering a case under the IT Act.
