"Up to 40 per cent power is being pilfered in the state in which there is conspiracy of the officials," he alleged.

Some old officers were there who were defaming the new government and a conspiracy was being hatched, Yadav alleged.

He said action should also be taken against big officers.

Existing power crisis in the state was due to previous BSP government which did not augment even a single mega watt power, alleged the former chief minister.

Yadav alleged power sector was grossly overlooked in the last five years.

The SP supremo claimed during BSP regime power of Rs 6,000 crore was purchased on loan.

He also claimed that a 2,500 mega watt power project was to be set up in Ghaziabad with the condition that power generated would be first used by the state, but a former Prime Minister created hurdle and did not let the plant come up by organising agitation.
