UP village violence: 11 arrested so far

The Uttar Pradesh Police has so far arrested 11 people in connection with a clash between two communities at a village here, in which one person was killed and six others were injured.

All the 11 accused, including two booked for murder, were remanded to a judicial custody till June 20, after they were produced at a court here today.

The accused have been booked on charges of murder, attempt to murder and rioting, a day after a clash broke out over an overflowing drain at Nasirpur village.

According to SSP Anant Tiwari, police has registered two separate cases.

The police has filed a case for rioting and attempt to murder while the family of the deceased has also lodged an FIR against six people.
 

Meanwhile, security was tightened in the village after yesterday's incident.
