A 50-year-old woman was killed and her husband seriously injured when a speeding truck hit their motorbike in Shamli district, police said today.
The deceased identified as Munesh was crushed to death by the truck yesterday while her husband Krishanpal was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition, they said.
The mishap occurred when the couple was on their way to a hospital for the woman's treatment.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said.
A case has been registered against the truck driver who was arrested, police said, adding that further investigations are on.
