Expressing Congress' commitment for economic development of Bihar, Union Minister Oscar Fernandes today said the UPA government allocated more funds to it in comparison to other states as it understood the state's aspirations.

Fernandes also assured that the state's special status demand was under consideration of the central government.

"The Congress-led UPA government is serious to cater to Bihar's aspirations for development and prosperity and accordingly it has made more financial allocations to the state than other states over the years," he said while addressing Bihar Congress leaders and workers at Sadaqat Ashram here.

"We are of the view that without taking along Bihar, the inclusive development of country is not possible," Fernandes said, adding that in view of its understanding of socio-economic situation in the state the centre has provided more funds to it than any other state.

The funds will come to aid Bihar's economic aspirations and development," the Union Surface Transport Minister said.

With the general elections being only four months away, the senior Congress leader asked the party leaders and workers here to start preparing for the polls and woo the voters by highlighting development and welfare schemes launched by the Centre.
