Madhya Pradesh unit of BJP here today accused the Congress-led UPA Government of trying to malign the image of the ruling party in the state by "misusing" Central agencies like Income Tax and the CBI.

"We have been saying this for quite a long time that in view of the coming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, the Central government will misuse CBI and IT to malign the image of the ruling BJP in the state," MP BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar said, adding that the same has been exposed before the public now.

Referring to news reports published alleging that during the Income Tax raid on contractor Dilip Suryavanshi and mining baron Sudhir Sharma, closely associated with the ruling party, the department officials had seized a diary in which details of payments made to the state's two Ministers -- Rajendra Shukla and Laxmikant Sharma -- were found, Tomar said, "It was a conspiracy and handiwork of the Congress."

Shukla is presently holding the portfolio of Energy and Mining and Sharma is the Minister of Higher and Technical Education.

Tomar said that on the basis of media reports only allegations were levelled against the ministers and they were not yet proved against them.

Meanwhile, both the ministers have already denied the allegations against them.
