Punjab Deputy Chief Minster and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today dismissed the performance chart issued by the UPA-II as "a post-mortem report and a listless obituary."

"Everybody knows that the UPA has been lying in mortuary for many years now. They are trying to hide the Congress under this camouflage, which has proved to be a desperate but failed publicity gimmick," he said.

"It's a government on the way out, but leaves behind a legacy of a country shamed by daylight rapes, murders and robberies everywhere, including the national capital.

People find it hard to walk with their heads high because of the shameless series of scams, corruption at high places and open patronisation of criminal and lumpen elements," he said.

"An economy in doldrums, unprecedented poverty and illiteracy, shocking price rise and inflation, alarming rate of unemployment, total anarchy in most parts of the country - these are the subjects in which the UPA claims to have passed with distinction," Badal added.
