Seeking to mount pressure on the ruling Congress, BJP today demanded that the government should move a bill in Parliament for formation of separate Telangana or convene a special session for the purpose.

"BJP will support it (the bill) fully without any condition. If necessary, you convene a special session for forming separate Telangana and BJP will support it even then," BJP President Rajnath Singh said here.

He was speaking at a public meeting where former TDP leader and MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy merged his pro-Telangana outfit with the BJP. The saffron party has been in the forefront of separate Telangana agitation.

Slamming Congress for "betraying" Telangana people on the promise of forming the separate state, he blamed the Congress-led government for the reported suicide by a large number of youths in support of Telangana demand.

He said his party would create Telangana state within a few months if NDA came to power after the next general elections.

Singh also asserted that BJP would not ally with any party that is opposed to formation of separate Telangana even if it failed to get clear majority in the elections.

"Congress-led government has been a failure on all the fronts like checking price rise, ensuring internal and external security and is also mired in corruption," he alleged.
