In a bid to give global exposure to exporters from the state, a two-day long buyer-seller meet was organised by the UP Institute of Design (UPID) here today.
Briefing reporters about the programme, UPID chairperson Kshipra Shukla said, "Exporters of India face stiff competition from those in Bangladesh and Vietnam. The two-day programme aims to make the exporters aware about the country-specific demands. In other words, this means which product is in demand in a specific country. Apart from this, the exporters will also be told about the global export trends."
She added that another objective of the buyer-seller meet is to make efforts to ensure that the buyer gets the correct seller.

"This will gradually help in a forging bond between the buyer and seller and also act as a bridge between the two," she said adding the meet was inaugurated by state's MSME and export promotion minister Satyadev Pachauri.
The two-day programme will also have sessions to inform exporters on costing their products, monitoring the quality of their products and the parameters on which they are tested, she said.
The UPID chairperson also said, "Earlier the buyer-seller meets were only held on paper" and claimed that the two-day meet is a proper meeting, facilitating interaction between the buyers and sellers.
