UPPCL lineman electrocuted

A contractual employee of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited was electrocuted in Govindpuram colony while repairing an electric line, police said today.

The deceased has been identified as Ramadhar (45).

According to Ashok Shishodia, SHO, Kavi Nagar Ramadhar was summoned by Junior engineer RS Yadav last night to attend to the breakdown of an electricity line in the area.

While Ramadhar climbed the electric pole, some one from the staff at electric substation released power in the cables inadvertently and he fell down after suffering a high voltage electric shock.

Infuriated family members of the deceased and a few locals protested over the death and registered a complaint against junior engineer RS Yadav, SSA Bijendra Singh and lineman KP Master.
 

A case was lodged under section 304-A of IPC (Causing death by negligence). The matter is under investigation.
