Upper air circulation over TN drifts away

As the flood relief works continued in affected places in Tamil Nadu, the MeT office today predicted rains only in a few places in the state with the upper air cyclonic circulation over the Commorin area drifting away.

"Yesterday's upper air cyclonic circulation over Commorin area and beighbourhood now lies over Maldives and Lakswadweep area," a MeT bulletin said.

Rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over south coastal and interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep, it said adding isolated rain or thundershowers may occur over north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

As regards flood relief, government machinery, volunteers, NGOs and political parties continued their work of distributing welfare assistance, clearing garbage and holding medical camps aimed at preventing endemics.
 

Special camps by workshops for repairing motorbikes and autos (free of cost) that conked out in the deluge began today here and Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Cuddalore Districts.

The camps will be held till December 21 and are being held in multiple locations, official sources said.
