The SDMC House today witnessed an uproar as members of the opposition AAP staged protests, alleging corruption in the building department of the civic body.
AAP's leader in the municipal House Ramesh Matiala said his party wanted to raise questions on the number of buildings that have been reconstructed in areas where there had been demolition but in reply, the department said that there was no record of it.
After about an hour of the ruckus, the AAP members staged a walkout from the House of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, raising slogans in front of the mayor and the municipal commissioner.

AAP councillor Jarnail Singh alleged the SDMC gave vague answers to most of the queries on the status of unauthorised constructions, to an extent that they had no clear answer of the de-sealing of the properties that were sealed by the corporation and the rationale behind it.
Leader of House in SDMC Shikha Rai criticised the opposition AAP for creating disruption, ruckus and wasting the valuable time of the House.
In a statement released later by the SDMC, she said their behaviour was "irresponsible, uncalled-for and against all democratic values".
South Delhi Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat said, if the AAP leaders were not satisfied with the answers that they had got, they should have allowed the House to function, and sought answers from us.
Congress' councillor Abhishek Dutt said the AAP should have got concrete answers to their questions but walking over is not a solution to the problem. "There must have been discussion on the issue."
In September, the SDMC House had also witnessed an uproar as members of the opposition AAP staged protests, alleging inaction by the BJP-led corporation in dealing with "illegal construction" in parts of south Delhi.
