Both the houses of Uttar Pradesh legislature today witnessed a wash out of Question Hour as the members of Opposition trouped into the Well demanding a discussion on the prevailing law and order situation in the state.

Members from BSP, BJP and Congress stalled the proceedings right from the beginning of the session, ignoring repeated pleas from the Chair to restore order of the House.

As soon the Lower House met for the day, agitated Opposition members demanded an immediate debate on law and order, and stormed into the Well.

Members of the BSP wore blue caps and waved flags.

Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey requested the members to return to their seats and maintain order, and said that the issue would be taken up later.

But, as they did not relent, he adjourned the House for 30 minutes.

As the House re-assembled and Leader of Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya rose to speak, BJP and Congress members sat on dharna in protest against the Meerut incident in which an army jawan was killed by eve-teasers.

Amidst uproar, the House was adjourned till 12.20 PM, as a result of which the entire Question Hour was also stalled.

In the Upper House too, similar scenes were witnessed and the Question Hour got derailed as Opposition members stormed into the Well forcing adjournment of the House till noon.
