UPSRTC to observe two-day strike

Demanding hike in bonus and increase in gratuity limit besides scrapping privatisation policy, employees of UP State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will observe a two-day strike from February 20. Buses plying for the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Allahabad will also remain off the roads, Karamchari Samyukt Sangharsh Morcha (KSSM) of the transport corporation here said today. "On the call of the central units of employees unions, the employees of state transport corporation would also observe state-wide two-day strike on February 20 and 21," KSSM president Chandrashekhar Pandey told newspersons. About 6,000 buses have been made available for clearing the rush of Kumbh on main bathing days while on other days, a fleet of 1,000 buses have been provided.
