Lead prices traded higher by 0.58 per cent to Rs 147.15 per kg in futures market today as traders built up fresh positions after pick-up in demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August edged up by 85 paise, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 147.15 per kg in a business turnover of 538 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in September was trading higher by 75 paise, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 148.30 per kg in 67 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to improved demand from battery-makers in the physical market mainly led to the rise in lead prices at futures trade.
