Refined soya oil prices traded higher by 0.59 per cent to Rs 747 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions amid pick-up in demand at domestic spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for January went up by Rs 4.40, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 747 per 10 kg with an open interest of 40,720 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 2.90, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 732.50 per 10 kg in 20,250 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders after uptick in demand in the physical market against restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in refined oil prices at futures trade.
