Uptick in demand lifts mentha oil futures by 0.18%

Mentha oil prices edged higher by 0.18 per cent to Rs 975.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March month rose by Rs 1.80, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 975.90 per kg in business turnover of 214 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April contracts traded higher by 50 paise, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 987 per kg in 169 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
