Uptick in demand lifts mentha oil futures by 0.22%

Amid rising demand at domestic spot market and restricted arrivals from producing regions, mentha oil prices edged higher by 0.22 per cent to Rs 1,019.30 per kg in futures market today as participants built up fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January month rose by Rs 2.20, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 1,019.30 per kg in business turnover of 195 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contracts was trading higher by Rs 1.80, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 1,027.30 per kg in 38 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following pick up in demand from consuming industries at spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
